About Me

I currently live in Vancouver BC and work as a preschool teacher! I am energetic, enthusiastic, sincere, and getting tired of looking at the same scenery. Having spent the last two years focused on school and work, I am definitely feeling the travel itch and am ready to explore more of the world and meet new people !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing because I like to feel that when I travel I am getting a genuine experience with local people. I also like the idea of such a communal way of living. Having worked in multiple hotels I enjoy making people feel at home and I am very appreciative of when people do the same for me !

Interests

I enjoy tea, historical fiction novels and my black cat Sirius.
I have the most fun when dancing to live music , especially at outdoor festivals.
I love walking adventures and being in nature, rain or shine.
I am currently trying to teach myself to cook but could definitely use help in this area!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all types of music, but mostly tend towards folksy, alternative, upbeat stuff that is fun to sing along to.
I read a lot of historical fiction, my favourite being Pillars of the Earth, but also really enjoy books that have a magical element.
I like all kinds of movies, especially comedies and superhero films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An amazing moment in my life was experiencing the 2010 Olympics while living in Whistler. The energy of the crowds, the various cultures represented and the respectful and cheerful attitude was so uplifting ! A crazy natural high !

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to tie your shoes, the planets in order from the sun, how to write your name, a song to remember the names of all the oceans and continents, how to colour inside the lines.... Oh wait you guys probably aren't 4 years old.
Hmm well in that case I guess I could impart the secret to perfect hospital corners when making your bed.
There are definitely some areas where I need lessons however:
-Cooking! I am at the most basic stage right now and fear spices. Help me !
-Keeping plants alive. I feel like a murderess.
-Any phrases in any language would be cool.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Definitely a bottle of wine first and foremost.
Enthusiastic conversation.
