Overview
About Me
I'm a Canadian student at York University in Toronto. I am new to couchsurfing but very excited to join the community.
I want to explore new places (don't we all) and enjoy trying local beers. Seeing anywhere through the eyes of a resident is always the most rewarding.
I love anything that takes me outside and don't consider a summer complete without a few camping and canoe trips in there somewhere. I have spent many seasons working at summer camps and believe it to be one of the most rewarding experiences one can ever encounter.
I am an environmental studies student at York University in Toronto and try to live sustainably in everything I do. I am especially interested in food related environmental topics and because of this am one of those crazies that survives on plants.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While travelling I find the most rewarding experiences to be those where I have the opportunity to stay with and meet local people. In Canada I have stayed with host families across the country and am currently living with Danes in Copenhagen, both have been highlights of travelling for me.
And you know, the whole cutting costs thing is pretty alright.
Although I am currently not in a position to host, I look forward to being able to sometime in the future if grown-up Jordan ever decides to settle down somewhere. =)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I survived the Dickson-Bonfield portage (5.3 km) in Algonquin park on my most recent canoe trip. It was awesome.
Teach, Learn, Share
I absolutely love cooking and sharing delicious food! I make a mean plate of vegan butter chicken. I love to experiment with different foods and sharing ideas. As a veg*n traveller, my goal is to try as many veganised traditional dishes as possible. Finnish pancakes were my most recent find. It was pretty exciting.
I also know how to make some body products (lotions, bug spray, deodorant) and when in one place for an extended period try to make as much of my own stuff as possible.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I always carry snacks.
