About Me
Presence is my magic. I'm a big fan of Couchsurfing because on both ends we openly direct our presence to each other. That's the most important to me; being honest and respectful to each other's practices, commitments, values, and beliefs.
I grew up on a sugar camp in the countryside of the province of Québec, Canada. Dancing, acting, writing-reading, and driving wildly on my snowmobile were the best part of my childhood. This and eating maple syrup until my stomach ache. I did humor performances for 7 years, I enjoy being the weirdest in the place, creating unpredictable situations, and playing with that! However, I traded a bit of my clown when starting studying anthropology at university. My perspective of the reason why I was here shifted. However, I never stopped dancing or writing.
Now that my studies are done, I find more balance between the crazy funny Jordann and the calm but warrior Jordann. I'm currently publishing my first novel (which aims to portray the year that follows a sexual abuse, from doubts to hopes to sorrow to angriness). I also had the opportunity to live for a year with an Inuit community in northern Québec, in a small town called Kuujjuaq. I taught 7 grade and was team leader of the cross country skiing club. Meeting Indigenous communities in my country is highly important for me and I'm always open to deepening my understanding and experiences with the different forms of battles that are ongoing right now and or wisdom sharing.
Besides that, I love the outdoors. I work as a guide of canoe in the summer and guide teenagers for 3 to 4 weeks trip in the wilderness. I love challenges but mostly, I'm in awe of the look on their face when they realize they can be TRULY themselves out there. The absence of judgment is a thing when you walk and paddle in mud all day and take a shit beside the fire camp because it's the only bugs-free spot... I love adventures.
Spirituality, arts, politics, environment, society, energy, literature, poetry, humor, outdoors, feminism, are all subjects I carry with me and love to nourish with deep or simple conversations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
7 days canoe trip, on day 5, deeply in the wilderness, one canoe is stuck in the river. After many attempts (3 hours of ropes system failing). The only trace of civilization is a train track, uphill. We take the other canoes, our barrels, and equipment, climb the hill, and hitchhiked a train. It stopped and took us back to our car upriver. We lost the canoe for, 1500$ and never finished that section. To celebrate, we threw the corn in the air and took a picture of, the corn we were supposed to eat on our last night.
