ABOUT US

Me [JORDI] I am a father of 3 girls on their own (college students). I live at 90 minutes of direct train from Fontainebleau, France (ticket: 2€50). I am interested in languages, cultures, geopolitics, travels, meeting atypical people. I like drawing portraits, reading SF, travels, musics of the world. I am mostly interested by two parts of the world, their people, languages and cultures: the Balkans and South East Asia. So if You are into ex-yogo, Albania, Bulgaria, China, Corea, Japan (and most of all Serbia and China) let's talk and befriend.

SOME PARTICULAR STUFF...

I speak Catalan and I am a big enthusiast of everything Catalan. I am of Romanian origins. We are all interested in everything Mediterranean, Central Europe, Balkans, South-East Asia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to Catalonia in August 2009 with my 4 yo daughter. We had two wonderful CS experiences + meeting another CS friend and a negative one (the person supposed to host us dropped us at the last minute). In 2010 and 2011 I repeated the experience and the result was absolutely positive (another host in Catalonia).We also hosted a Catalan and a British family in 2010 and 2011, and it was absolutely positive in both cases.
In 2012 we got back to our Catalan friends in Lleida for a wonderful holiday.
In july and august, we made a European trip by car and CS, Paris-Marseille-Velo d'Astico-Ljubljana-Senta-Dimitrovgrad-Pomorie-Bucharest-Timisoara-Zsambok-Bratislava-Rehetobel-Luxemburg-France... Great travel, great people, great experience for us and our children!
At the end of 2012, Elise and I discovered the fairy lights of Copenhagen and the hospitable couch of Lars.
In 2013, a nice flammish belgian family surfed our couch for one night.
July 2013: we were hosted in the Montseny (Catalonia), Sevilla (Andalusia, Spain) and Ile d'Oléron (France). All three experiences were great!
Between 2013 and today, we have exchanged hospitality various times with one of the families we've met before and we even let one of our girls for holidays to their place, and then they let theirs to our house!
In 2019, we went to Tremp (Catalonia) and discovered a lovely Catalan family and their children. My two girls who were there were immediately adopted by the kids of the village and they went together everywhere. We had decided to stay there one more night.
In 2020, we had experienced staying in France in the house/farm of an adorable lady with two grown-ups, house who also was an animal shelter. We spend time with her lama, dogs, poultry and the adorable pig who slept on a sofa in front of the house!
I was absent from CS for a while but now i'm back and ready to host or meet people in their places!

Interests

We have visited roughly 30 countries and met wonderful people everywhere.

When my children will end high school, I plan moving in southern France and either live in a house-in-a-van, either on a boat, either building a container house.

My greatest daughter Eléa will end high school this year (2022) and plans to study further sociopolitics.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Catalan and ex-Yugoslavian pop, world music, Bulgarian rap, Japanese metal. Surrealist literature, Art Nouveau and Catalan Noucentisme. I am a minimalist.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a geek and like languages. I can talk with you about my passions (internet, literature, music, and also philosophy and gnosticism). My girls are playing music and have other talents they could show you.
We would like to learn everything you'd like to teach us.
We are funny and have a wicked sense of humour.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a living room and a chamber, if I host you I'll leave you the room and sleep in the living. I can host 1, 2 or 3 people, a couple with a child can be ok too. I prefer to be warned far in advance, to take holidays to welcome and treat you properly. I'm also ok to meet people in Paris and show them stuff.
I've just moved to my new appartment so you have not to mind the mess and chaos.
