About Me
I developed my love of traveling in high school, when I had the opportunity to visit Spain to play soccer. The culture, music, and food had me hooked, but I realized what I really loved was new experiences and new people. As an adult, I love traveling for the same reasons. Meeting new people, learning new things, and expanding my life experiences are all important contributors to my happiness. My recent trips include a family trip to Scotland, hiking in Northern California & Hawaii, and shorter hiking trips up and down the East Coast.
For my work, I work with kids and adults with a huge range of intellectual, emotional, and behavioral challenges. I fell into this field and have found my calling in helping the population of special needs experience the world in ways they would not normally be able to. This spring I will receive my certificate in Wilderness Therapy, providing me a way to combine my love of the outdoors and travel with my calling for helping people around me. Along with that I hope to expand my knowledge by becoming certified in forest bathing to continue to heal people around me and better myself everyday as a human being.
While I am pescatarian, I have no issue co-habiting with meat eaters… or even making them a delicious meat-based dinner. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies, as I very much enjoy having conversations over meals. Being outside is calming to me, so I enjoy more natural environments. Pets are totally cool with me – dogs love me and I love them, so let me know if you need a guest walker while I’m visiting!
PS. I do not have any social media so that is why nothing is linked up! Can verify my identity through my moms? ha!.... but seriously
