ABOUT ME
'Who are you?' said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, 'I — I hardly know, sir, just at present — at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'
'What do you mean by that?' said the Caterpillar sternly. 'Explain yourself!'
'I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, sir' said Alice, 'because I'm not myself, you see.'
'I don't see,' said the Caterpillar
Lewis Carroll, Alice's adventures in Wonderland
Who am I? Difficult question to answer, difficult question to even pose (who? am? I?, what do these words mean?). Like Alice, I might have had a vague idea of who I was this morning; the most I can say right now is that I'm a daydreamer looking for adventures ;)
For more information (after all, it's a difficult question!), there are three reasonable alternatives: please continue reading, please browse my references or, the most effective one, please get to know me ;)
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
To meet new people, share experiences and reflections, discover other cultures, explore new places :) To get a glimpse of other realities, and exchange smiles, adventures and stories.
Centres d'intérêt
- Trying new things, organizing (or not) and carrying out completely absurd plans. The more absurd or experimental, the more likely to be considered.
- Humanities, broadly understood to include the arts, literature, philosophy, languages, history, and human culture in general.
- Maths (and formal sciences, in general). After all, I'm a maths student!
- Yoga and meditation. A very recent, though incredibly rewarding, discovery.
- Travelling (not necessarily in a physical way, also emotionally and intellectually). Exploring new cultures, places and ideas, getting to know other people and realities.
- Food and gastronomy. I LOVE (in this order ;)) tasting new dishes, discovering their relation to particular cultures, and learning how to prepare them myself.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
BOOKS:
This is THE thing. I love literature, and I have tried to explore it from every possible angle and from one end to the other. From Sumerian tales and archaic Greek lyric to the 1001 nights and James Joyce's Ulysses, from Bhagavad Gita and St Augustine's Confessions to Les liaisons dangereuses and Waiting for Godot, passing by the symbolist poets, Rilke and Latin American magical realism. If I haven't bored you so far, please do ask ;)
MUSIC:
Very eclectic interests, again ;). I love opera (especially bel canto, although I equally admire more modern composers (Strauss, Wagner, Debussy) and earlier ones (Mozart, Monteverdi)), jazz and swing (I'm a fan of the 1920s music, but also of Miles Davis, for instance), classical rock (Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Queen, Tubular bells...), and even pop, metal, sacred, chamber and ethnic music.
MOVIES:
David Lynch, The tree of life, La grande bellezza, L'année dernière à Marienbad, El ángel exterminador, The seventh seal, Midnight in Paris, Vertigo, Pulp fiction, The hours, My fair lady, 2001, Blade runner, Chaplin, Fellini...
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Living ;) Life is the most amazing adventure, the greatest passion, the biggest fear and challenge.
On a less philosophical note, I would say getting completely tangled while dancing salsa with a clown inside a catholic monastery . Or maybe getting lost inside the Red Pyramid, in Egypt, without any light or guidance. Which one is more amusing (or frightening) is up to the reader's judgement (in my own tremendously biased opinion, frightening --> salsa-clown, amusing --> pyramid-lost)
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
My mind is completely open :). I'd love to share with you whatever I'm passionate about, and to learn whatever you may wish to share.
I love learning about different cultures, what drives people in life, their believes, passions, languages, and countries. Every experience, feeling or skill is unique, and contains a world in itself that it's incredible to share.
