ABOUT ME

i'm just a big nerd. currently i teach at a college and two universities here in the Southwest, with a Master's in Literature (American Lit. is my specialty) i also have a background in Screenwriting and am working on a script, done some poetry, and research the nexus of art and science in my leisure time.

PHILOSOPHY

open-minded, always with a desire to learn/understand our reality. i am influenced by Buddhist thoughts aiming for selflessness, but i like to take the best of all worlds.

Music, Movies, and Books

Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Invisible Man, The Road, Blood Meridian, Adventures of Augie March, the Watchmen.

Blade Runner and 2001. Tree of Life also struck a chord.

speaking of which, Mars Volta.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

living in the border is pretty amazing in and of itself, but, i have been to the White House as an invitee, and i've met the Mexican poet Javier Sicilia, authors Luis Alberto Urrea, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, and the videogame designer Hideo Kojima.

Teach, Learn, Share

i want to learn about current indigenous culture more; as well, the role that shamans are currently playing in it.

i know quite a bit about the environment, sociological perspectives on modern politics, literature (mostly contemporary American but i'm fairly well read in everything from Phillip Roth to philosophy), and the Metal Gear epic.
