About Me

Hello! I´m Jörgen, I work as a high schoolteacher in religion, history and right now I study geography. I love to chill and just having fun, life is too short to do boring stuff so i try to do what ever comes to my mind. I don´t want to worry about the future, almost all problems can be solved in one way or another. And if they can´t, then you don´t need to worry anyway. It´s that simple!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel all over the world and meet interesting people, new cultures, exciting food, so this is perfect for me! And it´s pretty cool that you as a host can get all this in your own home!

So Couchsurfing is the shit!

Interests

I want to travel as much as I can. I have a stupid idea that I will visit 100 countries before I die. So far I have visit about 70 countries. If I make it or not dosen´t really matter. The most important is that at least I tried . And I had to experience new cultures, adventures, good food and new people on the way! I work hard on my bucket list, so there is lots of action, adventures, exploring and adrenaline kicks of all kinds.

When I´m back in Sweden on my spare time I have a pretty active lifestyle as well: bicycle downhill, mountain biking and other fast extreme sports that that give me an adrenaline kick, hiking and trekking in the nature, wildlife, Geocaching, listen to music, fishing, photograph, ride motorcycle. Most important is to do all this as much as possible with my with family. I try to read as much as I can, which is a good way to relax on and hopefully it makes me a little bit smarter!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a big part of my life. HIM, The Who, Foo Fighters, Volbeat, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Meat Loaf, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Queen, Bob Marley, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Lenny Kravitz are my favorites! And as a child of the 90s, I must admit that I have a weakness for the classic euro techno. Don´t mess with Culture Beat - Mr Vain!

Jules Verne's - "Around the World in Eighty Days" is a hell of a book and Verne was a hell of a writer. Not to mention Douglas Adams - "The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy". Another good writer is Paulo Coelho.
We must not forget important books like George Orwell - "1984" and Darwin - "The Origin of Species"! Most of the books that I read are non-fiction about science, religion, history, psychology, cultures, politics, crimes...

And Forrest Gump is the best movie ever! It makes me cry as a baby every time! Other good movies are Stand by me, The Lion King, Slumdog Millionaire, The Wrestler, The Experiment, Leon, Koi-Tiki and Blood Diamond.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing!? I have done millions! I´ve seen the stars! I´ve smelled a beautiful flower. I´ve have felt the grass on my feet! I´ve heard the ocean! I´ve read a good book! I´ve had enjoyed a good glas of vine! I´ve listened to a great song that gives me goosebumps! I´ve seen a movie that make me cry! I´ve have hugged the woman of my life! I´ve a son that I love so much that it hurts! And I wake up everyday in a good comfortable bed, health, have food on my table, roof over my head and freedom. There are so many things to be grateful for - so isn't life it self amazing when you think about it?

Teach, Learn, Share

Besides eating, I was pretty much born without any talent or skills but I guess I have some knowledge that I can share.

Sweden got an amazing nature and it´s perfect for hiking. I grow up I the middle of the forest so I guess I know a lot about the Swedish nature and animals. If you want to and the weather is ok than we can go hiking and live like bushmen for a while. I'm the Swedish version of Bear Grylls... almost! It´s wonderful to go away for a while, turn of the cellphone and forget about the modern world!

I´m a teacher så I guess I know my subjects. One of my weirdest hobbies is to visit different cults (some of them were really weird!) all over the world. I have so many books about cults and I know everything about them all - Just ask me...

I´ve visit some countries, seen so many beautiful places and met so many cool people. If you want to I can share some of my stories. Traveling is my life!

I love food! Both to eat and to cook! I maybe not the best chef in the world but I think I can make some pretty nice dinners. Maybe I can teach you how to do some classic Swedish meatballs?
