About Me

If anyone loves travel, culture, and people, it's me. After graduating from university and working as an engineer for several years, I decided to backpack in 2006, and ever since, I've been traveling to different countries, immersing myself in language, culture, and wonderful relationships. Easy going, funny, mindful, intelligent, and great conversationalist are some of the ways people would describe me, making me either a great person to catch a coffee or drink with, to learn more about the city and area, or your next great couch surfer.. My favorite country traveled to thus far is Italy. I'm into all kinds of music from around the world, love literature, philanthropy/volunteerism, and am an entrepreneur at heart, personally and professionally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For years I've hosted many Meetup events, met many wonderful people, and I'd like to do more of the same, learning about new cultures, languages, and tell stories over great food and drink. I come from a culture where hospitality is core to who we are, and I'd like for others to experience that wonderful hospitality. And finally, I'd like to travel more, to find inspiration for my various projects, including a novel, and meet wonderful humans along the way. Give me all of the places in the world, and it would mean nothing without connections with people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music: From Frank Sinatra to Santana, from Pitbull to The Eagles, from mundo Latino to Lebanese, I love it all.
Films - biopics, adventure, historical, real-life dramas, and comedies; from Gladiator to Godfather, from Scent of a Woman to anything Adam Sandler.
Standup- Sebastian Maniscalco
Books - Biographies, spirituality, philosophy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've always wanted to be a pilot, but for various reasons, I couldn't become one. And so I decided to fulfill a dream, and I hopped in a fighter jet from Van Nuys airport outside of Los Angeles, and I took to the skies with a pilot. I got to try my own barrel rolls, low level flying in the desert, figure 8's, and more. Best part: I didn't throw up...not at least until I got into the hanger. Loved every minute of that 'bucket list' item. What's yours?

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone has a story to share. That's what one of my mentors taught me. Ask them to tell their story. If you haven't already, you need to read The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, a celebrated poet and philosopher from Lebanon. In that small book are the spiritual treasures which I've come to love and live by. Finally, destiny is what happens to us, and the will is what we do with it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Creative cooking. Philosophy & spirituality. Great conversation (possibly in English, Italian, French, or Arabic). Grab a coffee in a local cafe. Walk, hike, sightsee. Sing to songs (karaokee). Starting a project - entrepreneurship, philanthropy, social enterprise. Tastings - food and drink. Dance-fiestas to festas. Volunteering w/local cause.
