About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel around the world!

ABOUT ME

Currently, I'm travelling around the world with my best friend from college. We're planning on spending 18 months doing a mostly land-based circumnavigation starting and ending in California.

PHILOSOPHY

There are two kinds of learning. The first is didactic (touch something hot, you get burned. 2 times 2 is 4, etc.) The other is a special kind of learning where you have an honest face to face conversation with someone who thinks differently than you, and you leave that conversation with a changed perspective.

I live for that second kind of experience, hoping that once I learn enough, I can use technology to enable more of them to happen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking forward to using Couch Surfing as a great way to meet new people as I travel around the world.

Once back from my trip, I hope to be able to host lots of people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far very few, mostly staying with friends on their couches at home. I'm excited to branch out from there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking Mt. Etna in Sicily in the winter of 2002 was awesome. Not only did we hike right by active lava flows but we were also treated to the sight of snow falling on an active volcano.
