About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy my time on this planet!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the north of Holland. Moved to Amsterdam in 1999 to study hotelmanagement and worked in a hostel. During the worldcup football (soccer) 2006 I moved to Berlin to work. Since a couple of years I work for an airline. If you want to know how I am, you can read my guest references or come and visit me :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a host and surfer. I can offer you a small 8m2 room in a 3 room apartment in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It's a very central but green neighborhood. Google maps: Wartenburgstrasse. When I have time I will show you around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not so much yet (5 till now), but I had many visitors from all over the world. It was simply not done over this platform. I worked 5 years in one of the biggest hostels in Europe (Stayokay Amsterdam) and met many people I stayed in contact with.

Interests

Sailing, surfing, BBQ/picknick in the park, football (soccer and AFL), fleemarkets, travelling and drinking any kind of alcoholic beverages.

Music, Movies, and Books

Depends on my mood. Sometimes something with Ben Stiller and other times heavy historical movies. I love Ricky Gervais! I am not a fan of these typical American blockbusters (one men saves the world stories). My music taste is very various as well. I own albums from Wyclef Jean till Daft Punk. I like to buy old vinyl records on fleemarkets! Geert Mak is my favourite writer. He wrote many books about European history seen from a normal civilians perspective. Very interesting for people who want to know a bit more about our history (most of his books are translated).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year on a sailing ship. Improved my sailing technics and met great people!

Teach, Learn, Share

We have a drink and you can tell me your story :-)
