About Me

Hello, my name is Josè David Toro, I am from Colombia, I am a student of psychology. I have visited Spain, Germany, Italy, Croatia, and Serbia, and I plan to visit Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Romania, and Finland.

I started to travel one year ago because all my life I wanted to travel to Europe and know the beautiful and magical places and everything related to castles and places with ancient history. I want to travel the world, see new places, learn new things, and meet new people. I love to get to know new cultures, try new food, know the local nature, and getting to know the cities like the locals.

I am not a good cook because I always cook spaghetti (I love spaghetti), but I can prepare some food from my country and especially a meal that has generations in my family.

I love animals and nature in general! In Colombia I have two beautiful dogs and a cute cat, rescued from the street.

I am very easygoing, helpful and I always try to do my best. I look forward to working with you and having a good time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was in Ecuador I was invited to an event to learn about the typical food that is made in December, and the organizers of the event told me about Couchsurfing.

I think this is a more authentic form of visiting places and making new friends, rather than staying in hotels and not really getting to know the culture and rhythm of a place.

I have traveled for a year around Europe using mainly Workaway and visiting friends. Now I want to start using Couchsuring, as it allows me to meet more people in cities.

I love music in general, but particularly Rock and Vallenatos ( is a popular folk music of Colombia. It primarily comes from the Colombia's Caribbean region)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not a good cook because I always cook spaghetti (I love spaghetti), but I can prepare some food from my country and especially a meal that has generations in my family.

I can teach you a lot about my country, its culture, its history, its myths, its music, and its actuality.

I can also teach you scientific curiosities and about how to read body language.

Also, I can teach you basic music theory, if you have a flute I can explain to you how to play it (at this moment I have a Xaphon with me, we can learn to play it together).

Additionally, I have knowledge of first aids and first psychological aids. Somethimes that can help to save some lifes.
