Midwest transplant to the east coast. I'm a big fan of anything outdoorsy, exploring in general, and music. I originally moved to Boston to start my PhD in Physics but after 3 years I decided I'd had enough of academia and took my masters degree and got a job working as a data scientist for a software company which I've been doing ever since. In my spare time I love learning new things in general and in particular I love learning languages. I'm currently working pretty hard on learning German o if you know German or are also learning German I'd love to meet up to have more people to practice with! I have trouble finding time for it these days but I also like to mess around with playing the guitar a bit. I'm also pretty into biking and fitness in general and do my best to stay active.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's an awesome way to meet new and interesting people outside of my normal social circles. As great as grad students and tech people are I like to try to keep my friend group diverse!
I just finished the second year of a PhD program in Physics. I'm pretty interested in music and am trying to learn to play guitar. I also enjoy biking and hope to bike from coast to coast one day. I'd also love to go on some short bike trips around the area this summer if anyone is interested!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably the craziest thing I've ever done was I once took a bus to New York with two of my friends and we brought nothing with us but our return bus tickets and stayed there for the weekend. It was very fun and I'm glad I did it but at the same time it was quite exhausting. Some other cool things I've done are bike from Boston to Maine and go to burning man.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you plenty of random things about math, physics, computers, and data science. I'm not completely fluent but I could definitely teach you a good deal about Spanish and Portuguese. I would love to get more practice with my Spanish and Portuguese and I'm currently trying to learn German too!
