About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I’m not into missions; just having a great time with people who like to chat and watch Netflix, YouTube, go to museums, theaters, walking around the city.
Book store shopping is a big deal for me.
ABOUT ME
I would hope they will say that I'm loyal and trustworthy, with a great sense of humor ( I love to laugh and be silly ), also I can be counted on to be there if they should need me in some emergency. I've done this before so it wouldn't be the first time. I do think they will say that I like to go out and meet people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. I hope they will also say that I don't like to be lied to, unless you really, really need to do so, and it doesn't involve me, then I am tolerant enough to let it go assuming I were to find out. I'm tolerant but I do like cleanliness. I do tidy up my place and I think my friends will say that my apt is in great looking shape and nicely kept and clean. I like that in others, at least while they are with me. I do not like to criticize people's habits of their own house keeping. I visit people not house's to find fault in them.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to be kind and open to people. I think that Karma exists and what I produce in the world will be replicated, hopefully, in other places. I live my life with the intent that I will experience life as it comes and adjust accordingly. One day at a time is best. I love film, I love books, I love my family and I love my dog Milo and my cat Flora. I'm an Atheist but I do believe in the Buddhist thought of kindness to be my religion. We all deserve to be loved and to give love too. Smile!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a GAY man, friendly, kind and honest. We can share our differences as well as our similarities in life with each other. My only demand Gay friendly. This is a Must! COUCHSURFING for me is all about meeting various people who are in life seekers of fun and a fair exchange of ideas. I like people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have No experience at all. This is my first time offering my couch ( a very comfortable Leather sofa bed I might add) and so I can't really relate any stories. I have in the past shared my apt with several different people from around the country. My first roommate was from Houston, Texas, a great guy who stayed with me for two months. The next was another guy from Madrid who stayed for a month, another really nice experience and we shared Basically the same language. I spoke Spanish from the new world, he from the old world. Then their was the wonderful guy who was transitioning into a girl. She was terrific and lots of fun. I have no hangups and love all kinds of people but they must be kind. I’m a Buddhist, Atheist!, and GAY…
Interests
My attention grabbers are people who are talkative and sharing. I like TV and I like others to like it too so that we can share the experience of just being couch potatoes and spend some quality time just talking over a great film. I spend time not just watching TV but also reading and collecting books, so I like to browse book stores in NYC. I enjoy going to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, where I'm a member, and also other museums- Museum of Natural History, Moma, etc.... I don't like sports but I can be with a sports minded person and listen to their experiences of watching athletes doing their thing. But mostly I'm just a people person, who likes to sit and talk on the couch or in a movie house or in a club lounge.

Music, Movies, and Books
The first adult book I read, when I was around 15, was the Godfather, and Eureka ( a non-fiction bk about California ). I also loved Gone With The Wind, by Margaret Mitchell (?). Music is not my thing but I do listen to all kinds of pop songs by varied artists on You Tube and VEVO. Spanish ballads by the likes of Julio Iglesias and I do Love JLo. I listen also to classical music and view Opera when I can, mostly in the theater on film
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, I haven't really had any "awestruck" moments, but one that is dear to my heart was selling the ole' homestead I grew up in to strangers. It was not a happy moment, but I was in awe of the process of selling something I loved for over forty years.
Once when I went to Key West, Florida, I did feel awestruck and sort of silly, when I walk to the Sundown Spectacle that we tourist go to see and their it was: the sun lying in still blue/black water, with a slight light coming in and it was just so stunning. I'm not a camera person, but that moment should have been captured by a photograph. I will someday revisit this lovely island in the Caribbean to take the photo that left me stunned by it shear natural and clean beauty.
Teach, Learn, Share
God, I have learnt a lot from people in the sphere of psychology so I like to impart whatever I've learned to others on this subject. I would like to also learn new skills like MS programs which I find difficult but do have on my computer. Anyone know this program and is willing to impart what they have learned? I want to talk to and learn from someone who knows about Film and it's history. I love the "gossip" of old and somewhat newer stars. Silly me....
What I Can Share with Hosts
A sense of fun, an inquisitively natural desire to learn and listen. Tell me your stories; I'll tell you mine. Conversation between two or more like-minded people over a small bottle of wine and a hearty dinner is something I can jump right in, participate with my host. I can cook too! .
