Hey!! We are José Tomás and Paula. We are travel lovers. Paula has been traveling since she was a child, visiting different countries around the world such as the USA, France, Italy, Brazil, Ecuador, and more. On the other hand, José Tomás traveled through Europe on his own, meeting many locals with whom he maintains friendships to this day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are a couple of Chilean artists who enjoy nature, creativity, and learning by meeting new people and cultures. We both believe in the values of trust, friendship, respect, and empathy, so traveling under this premise is a must for us. That’s why we feel like part of the Couchsurfing community and its spirit!

Music, Movies, and Books

Violeta Parra, Los Tres, and other Chilean artists. The Cure and The Strokes are also at the top. Movies! We both like Raúl Ruiz from Chile and experimental filmmakers. Finally, books: Cien años de soledad by Gabriel García Márquez, Inés del alma mía by Isabel Allende, and the tales of Lovecraft.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most incredible thing we've done is make a movie together at the age of 21. That film was shot in the driest desert in the world, with a very harsh climate. We came out unscathed from that odyssey, from which we learned a lot about teamwork, friendship, and plenty of laughter while traveling and making films.

Teach, Learn, Share

Paula is an actress and knows a lot about techniques for speaking in public comfortably, oral communication skills, and storytelling. On the other hand, José Tomás knows a lot about analog film production techniques. We both cook delicious Chilean food; Paula specializes in desserts, while José takes care of starters, main dishes, and some cocktails. We’re interested in learning more about international cuisine and sharing musical and cinematic tastes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We offer spectacular nights of popcorn and great Latin American cinema. José Tomás has an amazing popcorn recipe!! Haha. We travel with a USB drive full of a diverse movie library that we can enjoy.
