About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Parenting, doing dishes, gardening, keeping up the music and trying to be a decent person.
Working toward a career in Art Therapy.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short , but it's also long!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is actually a really empowering way to travel, and its based on a delicate exchange of trust, respect and curiosity. Like libraries, couchsurfing is kind of like picking out a book to read when you have no idea who the author is, and then respecting the honour system of returning it.

I started up this profile with my friend Myriam, we hosted together when we were in Limerick Art College.

I'd like to use cs myself to travel with my daughter, hotels are gone so expensive I think it's sad that would put you off travelling. It's a nice way for solo travellers to have a bit of company and have a local's guide to a new place. I like the excuse to go sighteseeing around Clare, I love where I live :)

I usually meet hosts in a public place first of all to make sure they are who they say they are and will use my own judgement to feel if it's right to invite them to my home. I don't reply to requests that are impersonal or if your profile pic is just really terribly frightening lol.

I am taking a break from hosting so much, I've started a helpx profile so people could stay that way in exchange for a little help with maintaining the garden especially . I am creating a garden in a vaguely Japanese style, cutting pathways through a wild meadow. I am on my own so it's all a bit overwhelming. Get in touch if you would like to stay that way.
