I travelled for as long as I could without becoming bored. When I finally reached the point where I figured I needed to 'pay back' for all the freedom I enjoyed, I chose to become a lawyer. Now, all I can think of is the book I'm writing. And the travelling I want to get done.

I'm a low key, contemplative creature, figuring stuff out along the way and eager to meet strangers. I've worked bars in Spain, fishing boats in Cuba, hostels in Chile and human rights clinics in Kosovo. When I sleep, I dream of trains.

One of the most important skills I learned from travelling has been to let go of control when I want it the most. To question the idea that the relationship between effort and reward is one-to-one; that working twice as long doesn't produce twice the result; that screaming your point twice as loud doesn't make you twice as right.

Now, I wanna hang out with locals at their favourite hole in the wall. I make excellent coffee and cocktails, and sleep less than your average couchsurfer, staying up reading and drinking wine.
