I'm Joe! From a small town called Derby which resides in the centre of England 😋 I finished high school in July 2015 where I was studying English, Geography and Drama 🎓 I worked full time in retail until mid October, when me and my best friend Hannah embarked on a year traveling Southeast Asia! 🌏 later this year we plan to be in Australia to work (saving up for more travels) we've currently traveled northern Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I heard about couchsurfing awhile ago, at first the idea terrified me!! But soon realised that's it could be an amazing way of seeing a place through a non tourist perspective 😅 I'm on couchsurfing to make new friends!

Music - currently listening to Melanie Martinez. I have quite a weird music taste, I like all genres! Whatever sounds interesting 😄

Movies - recently watched both Lara Croft movies! Can't beat Angelina Jolie 😉 and after visiting Ta Phrom I had to re-watch haha.

Books- Finished reading 'First they Killed my Father' a true account written from the perspective of the authors 5 year old self about her experiences during the Khmer Rouge takeover. A very moving read.

When in Laos, I spent a month teaching English to Buddhist Monks. I underestimated how much hard work my English teachers back home had to put in! But it certainly was a rewarding experience 😄
