Overview
About Me
Hey there! I’m Joseph, a creative and curious soul from Oklahoma who loves good conversation, community, and connecting with folks who bring kindness into shared spaces. I work in cultural tourism and arts programming, helping lift up Indigenous and queer artists across the country.
As a guest, I’m low maintenance and grateful for a clean, safe place to land after a full day of exploring. As a host, my home is open and welcoming to all, especially queer travelers and anyone who believes in respect, laughter, and good food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people who see travel as more than just sightseeing. For me, it’s about connection, culture, and shared stories. Couchsurfing feels like a way to keep community alive while exploring new places or welcoming others into mine. I want to meet folks who are kind, open-minded, and curious about the world — the kind of people who make a space feel safe and welcoming no matter where you are.

Music, Movies, and Books
My playlists jump from Madonna to Mary Chapin Carpenter to classic soul without warning. I love lyric-forward music that tells a story and makes people feel something real.
When it comes to movies, I’m into a mix of queer stories, smart comedies, and anything with great cinematography — Moonlight, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Birdcage, and the occasional comfort rewatch of The Devil Wears Prada. I also love a good action-suspense moment, but I skip the gore and horror every time.
Books? I’m drawn to writers who blend identity, history, and heart — Tommy Orange, Ocean Vuong, and others who make me see the world a little differently.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When a friend of mine was touring with Peter Pan the Musical and their company stopped in Memphis for Thanksgiving — where my parents live — we invited the entire cast and crew over for lunch. We cooked for about 50 people, shared stories, and turned that afternoon into a home for everyone far from their own. It was one of those beautiful moments where generosity and gratitude filled every corner of the house.
