I have lived in Detroit for 7 years, I went to school here and now I live and work here .. I work at the Detroit Institute of Arts which is a top ten American art institution. I also work as an English language tutor for Korean students abroad. I am very good at communicating with non native english speakers and am happy to help you with English! (I have a lot of experience. ) Anyways, my passions are live music, record collecting, Japanese food, Anime, and film.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I really like horror movies, especially exploitation films such as early Wes Craven or Tobe Hooper, and J-Horror films like Dark Water and Onibaba! Really any Criterion Collection as well, some of my other favorites are Le Yeux Sans Visage, Funeral Parade of Roses, and Red Desert.

Anime: I really enjoy cyberpunk era stuff, like Akira, Bubblegum Crisis, Ghost in the Shell, and Evangelion... also the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Paprika, and Perfect Blue are just a few of my favorite films.

Music: Some of my favorite artists are.. Klaus Schulze, Hiroshi Yoshimura, Croatian Amor, Function, Puce Mary, Grim, Insane Clown Posse, Whitehouse, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, Nurse With Wound, Vivenza, and Current 93. I guess my "favorite" genre is 80s Industrial.

Books: Mishima, Kobo Abe, Don DeLillo..
