Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I spent the past 5 years touring around the United states and Canada in a band. We never stayed in a hotel, and spent very few nights sleeping in the van. We stayed in people homes that we met at shows and through other friends. The kindness of others, and their willingness to open up their homes was humbling. I also spent 2 years in Minneapolis, where my door was always open to bands passing through, and friends who needed somewhere to stay for a while. I fully believe that inviting people into your home and sharing meals and stories is one of the most fulfilling things we can do.

I appreciate Couchsurfing because they make that connection possible between host and traveler that wouldn't otherwise be there.

And let's be honest, traveling can be expensive!
