---
SOUTHWEST TOUR 2023: Genghis the motorcycle and I are on the road again! This time headed east towards New Orleans. This trip will be packed with photography and adventure. Can't wait to meet some interesting people along the way!
---
ROUTE 66 EXTRAVAGANZA (July 2022 - Sept 2022): I started off the motorcycle trip in Chicago and making my way west via Route 66. The Mother Road! Surfed with some fantastic hosts and made it all the way to Santa Monica Pier...all 2300 miles!
---
EARLY MAY, 2022: I'm in Poland and the Ukraine!
I just spent the last 2 weeks volunteering on the border of Poland and the Ukraine, helping refugees with supplies and translations as they crossed into Hrebenne.
After I get back to the USA, then...
The cross-country motorcycle trip is BACK ON! Looking forward to the next leg of the journey!!
I've been in North Carolina for the past 3 months working on startup, and am now back on the road. Looking forward to connecting with you all!

: : MY RECENT COUCHSURF HISTORY : :
** SAN LOUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA: Spent the night exploring 'the happiest city in the USA' with Michael Allen who, with great enthusiasm, helped me feel welcome and right at home. We had the famous tri-tip sandwich, hopped around to local haunts, and discussed his future motorcycle travel plans. I couldn't have asked for a better guy to hang with there.
** LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Stayed with Ben Keller, in an incredible spot in LA. Rooftop sunrise views, fire pits, and ukulele sessions through the night. I felt instantly connected to the excitement and grind of the entertainment industry there. I'll be back LA!
** LIVINGSTON, TEXAS: Impromptu stay with Hippie and Rick, the owner and head mechanic of the "190 Bike Corral." These two gentlemen were nice enough to let me sleep at the motorcycle shop while I swapped out a new clutch for Genghis (my 1971 BMW motorcycle). To repay their kindness, I tried to jump right in and help around the shop where I could. Two lifesavers, these guys.
** TULSA, OKLAHOMA: Spent 2 nights with a great guy, James Browning. Had some Oklahoma BBQ and chatted into the night about all things psychology, travel, and adventure. The guy has led a crazy life, someone I'd like to emulate in the future. What a time in Tulsa!
** ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI: Got to spend 2 days with Zen and he had a GREAT system going on. Punctual, prepared...he even provided a list of close-by restaurants, attractions, and other need-to-know info about the area. Plus, we got to see the play 'Chicago' at the Municipal Theater which was awesome. The guy knows a LOT of history about St. Louis and Route 66, I feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with him!
** WARSAW, POLAND: Spent a night with Malgosia in her incredible flat in Praga, Warsaw. She showed me around, we drank some great local wine, and she even helped me with organizing a COVID test (for returning to the USA) with a local medical center in Polish. She is a hardcore traveler and her apartment was full of stories and life. Hope we cross paths again!
** COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA, USA: Here I spent a night with Marlena who was an amazing soul. We attended an environmental event, chatted about India and Alaska, and she prepared some amazing dal! Then she was nice enough to show me some of Cocoa Beach right before I rode off into the sunrise!
** ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA, USA: Got to spend some time with Ian and he showed me how to ride a One Wheel. We also had some amazing street tacos and swapped some amazing travel stories.
** ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, USA: I spent a night with John and we discussed all his crazy stories photographing bands like the Outlaws and the Rolling Stones. Then he showed me his newest project, a book of photographs of buskers around Asheville...and it was incredibly impressive. Great guy!
** KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE, USA: I was hosted by another motorcycle traveler named Windham and we swapped some great stories. Between the gyros, rum and photos of his South America trip...he was a great host. Plus I got some amazing tips for my own motorcycle trip.
** LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, USA: Stayed with an amazing guy named Rohit. We drank tea, spoke of programming, calculus, automation and human consciousness...and connected on a lot of different levels. He made my stay in Louisville feel like home. Loved it here.
** CINCINNATI, OHIO, USA: Had the fortune to stay with Jon B. for a night, along with 2 girls from Columbia and 2 humanitarian aid workers. Played Blockus until the wee hours, had conversations in Spanish, learned how to make Vietnamese coffee, and made some great friends.
** COLUMBUS, OHIO, USA: Stayed with Rona and Shad for a few nights and had a wonderful time. They taught me about Nia, tax liens, black panthers in Brazil and the robots used in meat processing.

: : MY STORY : :
I just started using CS and currently I'm working on building my second software business from the road on my 1971 BMW motorcycle. I really want to see the country I grew up in...experience the landscapes and meet/interview interesting people. Another passion of mine is photography, and I'm creating a 'coffee table' book of photos from this USA trip.
: : MY HISTORY : :
I spent my 20's as a tall ship captain, photographed India as a motorcycle backpacker, been shipwrecked in France, flown in zero-gravity with NASA and developed photography systems for US Air Force satellites, guided wilderness tours in SE Alaska, and worked as a mechanical engineer designer for Cirque du Soleil, Disney, and artists such as Taylor Swift and Pink Floyd.
I'm excited for this next adventure in the USA.
(also, most of my current work is done while living just north of NYC on my sailboat "Albatross")
