I am a 22-year-old Business Major at Oregon State University’s Cascade Campus in my fifth year of College. I am an adventurous individual that is doing an end of summer cross country road trip. My best friend since Middle School, Colin Leutschaft, has to report for Active Duty on September26th in Fort Lee, VA. A mutual friend of Colin and I, Jada Myers, is tagging along as well. I had such amazing success with CouchSurfing in Europe I thought I’d give it a try back in the U.S.

When I am not busy working or studying I spend time with my girlfriend, Kailyn and our two dogs, Patches and Captain. I love the nightlife, the outdoors and the people I am fortunate enough to meet by living in such a popular destination. I love happy hour beers after work at Bend’s busy breweries, hiking with Patches, skiing during the winter and white water rafting during the Summer. I am a raft guide during the Summer's on the Lower Deschutes out of a small town called Maupin, OR. I think I really enjoy it so much because of the variety of people I get to meet through guiding every day.

Couchsurfing was the best part of my trip to Europe in 2019; I met so many interesting people, made some truly unforgettable memories and got so much more out of every place I visited by staying with locals.

I was preparing to leave for my trip to Europe, setting an itinerary for my first two weeks when I started to realize what a large chunk of my budget would be going to housing every day. I started to call up family and friends I knew had backpacked in Europe before and I got lots of great suggestions for apps to help me, but my cousin Cristina avidly suggested Couchsurfing. Like I said above, my trip would’ve never been the same with out it.

I believe myself to be a respectful, thankful and self-aware person. I know that Couchsurfing is not a free Air BnB website, but instead, it is a community of like-minded individuals who help one another make each others traveling dreams become a reality. I know that when someone does you a favor you should leave it as nice or nicer than when you arrived. I love to be social, but I also know how to be respectfully quiet.

Also I know a lot about traveling the Outdoors in the United States Pacific Northwest. I've done lots of hikes, climbs, rides and rafting trips all over PNW.
