我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

This is my first time on Couchsurfing. I'm currently studying abroad in Paris and am searching for ways to understand cultures past the guided-tours and scenic routes. Getting a hotel or airbnb can only teach you so much! Unfortunately, as a student I've always lived under the roof of my parents and other students and never had the opportunity to offer my own couch.

I recently took a spontaneous, solo trip to Montréal, Quebec and booked an Airbnb. I made friends by contacting a student organization from a local university. It was my first time solo-traveling so I was nervous. But I did it. Thanks to the friends I made it was a very life-changing experience. I am still currently connected to the many friends I made abroad in Montréal and I hope to continue to meet many more like-minded individuals who are open to share their culture and stories.

I have traveled to a few countries in my life, mostly with my parents, but having seen the most exquisite beaches and breathtaking monuments, the number one thing I always take away is the people I meet.
