My name is Josh, though most call me by my last name. I'm an owner of a successful renovation company and spend most of my time working or playing video games. I may be getting into travelling a little late in my years but I really want to see so much of this world while I'm here. I love experiencing new cultures, from their music to their food and the natural beauty you just don't see in the city.

Couch surfing is an amazing way to see these places on a budget, but it's more than that. You get you meet new people. People outside of the tourism industry who will really show you how life is lived away from home.

In April 2016, a lifelong friend of mine brought up the idea of a trip across the U.S. He introduced me to couchsurfing and while I didn't know much about it going in, I had an amazing experience. We got to meet so many people, living such different lives. We were shown parts of their towns that not many get to see, and experience the bustling culture and hear stories of adventures and struggles.

The whole experience changed my views on couchsurfing, from cautious to welcoming. I can't wait for my next adventure, or to host someone else's!

My taste in music is always changing, there is little I don't like. I will tend to listen to one genre for a while then switch to another, always hearing the newest music. I'd have to say my top three would be metal, EDM and country though, quite the opposites!

I'm into action movies, mostly of the war variety. I'd have to say my favorite movies are: We Were Soldiers, Saving Private Ryan, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and Deadpool.

Just one? I've swam across a lake, raced sportbikes on the track, and spent three weeks driving across the US.

My old man is a storyteller and it's been passed down to me. I've also been told I have a strong Canadian accent that seems to amuse people and I make a mean Whiskey Sour.
