Overview
About Me
I grew up in Vietnam 🇻🇳, originally from a small town called Quang Ngai but sort of “matured” in Ho Chi Minh City after living there for 5 years. I moved to the US in 2020, currently getting a bachelor degree in Psychology and Data Analytics. Soon to be a corporate slave!!!
I did an exchange semester at the University of Amsterdam and found out about this platform. I spent the majority of that semester traveling around Europe, probably went to >10 countries by myself on a low budget. Even though I was practically a tourist, surfing with local hosts and hanging out with travelers on this platform gave me such interesting points of view that I normally wouldn’t get. I think it’s fair to say that Couchsurfing helped redefine the concept of traveling for me, making it more of an integrated experiential learning opportunity rather than merely “traveling”.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This platform pretty much facilitated my solo travels back in Europe where I made such meaningful connections with local-ish hosts and all the people I met along the way. Those experiences in so many ways shaped who I am today, so I guess I’d want to pay it forward and host travelers in America or Vietnam whenever possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Vietnamese food if we have time, not bragging but I am a terrific cook (check out what Mackenzie Erickson had to say in my references lol). My strong skepticism towards both communist (grew up in one) and capitalist societies (currently living in one).
