About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Emulating Peter Pan

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in Vermont, and went to university in London.

I spent a year working a corporate job in London, before deciding to pursue more a more independent lifestyle. I enjoy the wilderness, rural areas, and having the freedom to wander and do what I please.

PHILOSOPHY

I enjoy taking things slow. I believe good company makes for a good time, regardless of where you are. I enjoy getting to meet and know a variety of people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm just getting started, but look forward to hosting and surfing!

Interests

Travel - but of course, that goes without saying. I've been traveling since I was young, and always try to see the local version of a place, whether that means sharing a meal, making a friend, or finding a hidden spot.

I follow and participate in a number of sports, ranging from American football to skiing, hiking, running, and back to proper footy.

I am passionate about US and global politics and international relations / foreign affairs; I'm happy to discuss all sorts of ideas and philosophies, and do so with passion and conviction.

I enjoy reading, and do so across a range of subjects and genres, everything from Hemingway to Tolkien.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies

Music
My taste in music is quite varied; basically, I'll enjoy listening to anything. To give you some flavour, my iTunes top played lists The Beatles, Billy Joel, Jay Z, U2, Jimi Hendrix, Tupac, Nirvana, etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunrise in the desert, Grand Canyon at Sunset, and Vegas Strip at 1am. All in 24hours
Boating on the French canals
Sleeping on the beach in California
Canoeing through the Maine lakes
Walking the length of Rome at 4am
Running for hours along the shore

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a formal background in Economic History, and am happy to discuss economics and related topics. Saying I can "teach" economics would be a serious misnomer, as that implies economics is somehow a settled science. More aptly, I can discuss it.

I like cooking and good food, and am always eager to share or learn new recipes; I am particularly good at breakfasts and baking. I am also very interested in home brewing beer.

I also enjoy building stuff, especially carpentry. I am interested in learning more mechanical and engineering based skills.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Spain, United States, Virgin Islands, British, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
