About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploration. Modern-style.

ABOUT ME

A dabbler in conversation, realism, tunes, "God-damn Litachure!" and the Great Outdoors. Also am a pretty mild-manneredly, casually and diffidently debonair dude. If you like alliteration we'll get along real fine, wherever and whoever we are.

Music, Movies, and Books

Film: Fellini, Lynch, Bergman, PT Anderson, B Wilder, Herzog, Kelly Reichardt, GvZant. Old movies are better than new movies.

Music: Holys Sons, Swans, Yo La Tengo, Marnie Stern, Deerhunter, Deerhoof, Grails, Dismemberment Plan, Fugazi, Talk Talk, Lightning Bolt, My Bloody Valentine, Modest Mouse, Whirl

Books: Kafka, DFW, Jimmy Joyce, Nabokov, Camus, Eliot, Eliot, Woolf. I think I would like Barth, Gaddis, D Mitchell, Bolano, Rilke, Ballard, Borges. I get distracted sometimes. Reading my own experience you could say.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Currently in Italy as a foreign student. Trite as it may sound, spending every day exploring the country (culture history geography architecture ff.) and every evening conversing with my host mother in Italian (native for her; nascent for me) over a multi-course dinner she has prepared is a waking dream.

Teach, Learn, Share

My big three are music, cuisine, and language. In each of these categories I'll teach as much as is wanted and take whatever is offered.

Countries I’ve Visited

United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
