About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bring fictional characters through life by allowing them to experience the world through my eyes.

ABOUT ME

God, this has required several takes because it keeps sounding like a match.com profile.

Where to begin? Well, my primary reason for joining CS is lights. I really, really miss the lights of the big city (been stuck in Hicktown, Colorado for the last 8 years; upgraded to a larger Hicktown for college). I'm a writer, or at least that's how I justify my future career of pizza delivery. And nothing helps me to write so much as those urban starfields.

So you can probably see why it's Tokyo that I most wanna visit.

I'm an agnostic, leaning atheist, though I've been studying Buddhism a lot lately. However, I never try to force my beliefs on other, and I'm fully tolerable of all others belief systems. In fact, I'm fascinated by them.

Also, I swear a fair amount, but generally for comedic effect, and it's something I can avoid if need be.

My interests are mostly... Well, lately writing and League of Legends. I've sorta grown away from most other video games. I also watch a lot of anime (Clannad and K-ON being my favorites) and I'm getting more into Western movies. I don't read as much as I should or used to, and lastly, I'm in love with music. I'm learning guitar and hopefully will be learning piano and singing. Regardless, I listen to music (metal, post-rock, J-pop) near constantly.

Lastly, I write visual novels, if any of you know what those are.

PHILOSOPHY

I have no more proof that I am correct in how I live my life than you do, but I'm willing to let you try to convince me. In the meantime, I want to see all I can and learn all I can.

Writing is always best high above the ground, late at night, surrounded by lights.

Interests

Oh damn I already answered that above.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most mind-blowing experiences I've had have been concerts - Nightwish and Devin Townsend to be precise. Both times, the energy and sheer human vitality was overwhelming. I spent too much money seeing Nightwish at their biggest North American show ever, and the only word for the time was magical. Those two nights of music, as well as a few others, have made me want to be someone, rather than just being anybody.

The other night that comes to mind was the most recent time I went to Las Vegas (after living there years ago). The lights... God, the lights. Looking down on the city from above, it was probably the closest thing I've had to a spiritual moment. I can't quite put into words what I meant to me, but I hope someone else can catch on.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to learn more than anything.

As I write this, I realize that I have no useful skills to teach or profound revelations. That's humbling, and needs changing.
