About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making lot's and lot's of good music!

ABOUT ME

Hey there, I'm a 27y/o guy who's most font of making good music as a guitar/bass player. Furthermore I enjoy hanging with friends, drinking a little too much beer and meeting interesting new people. I also enjoy my weekly game of football (with the round ball that is, obviously) in the park with friends.

PHILOSOPHY

O my. Philosophy... Well I think everyone is, and should be treated as an equal. Race, gender, sexual orientation, believes, religion, origin and what not, shouldn't be discriminated. This all might sound as a dull cliché, if it weren't for a lot of people having different thoughts on at least one of aforementioned aspects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I just registered to CS, haven't really participated yet, but would love to be a host for people who either speak Dutch or English. German is fine too, although I'm definitely not an experienced speaker.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't used or offered a 'couch' myself yet, though I have had a room mate who was a frequent host. This resulted in one of the scariest, yet best ways to waking up from a successful night out. Imagine waking up hungover on a sunday morning, going to the toilet only half awake, flushing, unlocking the door and then - out of nowhere - having a pitbull terrier jumping you the moment you open the door! Thank you dear room mate for informing me about the two Italian's with their loving soul companion hanging round the house :D It was a very kind dog though, but never again please...

Interests

Well, no harm done in repeating myself once more, by saying that I really like listening to and playing good music. Also, I'd really love to have time and money to go traveling again in the future. I've been to Thailand, Laos and Nepal (which was awesome obviously, especially the latter country). Being without a full time job at the moment, I'm blessed with having the time to watch a bunch of enjoyable movies. O and did I already mention I like beer a lot?

Music, Movies, and Books

Not that much of a book worm, though I recently managed to finish a book by Iain M Banks (which is not that much of a achievement, haha. But still). The lack of interest for books is well being compensated for by the amount of films and music I devour. I like to avoid an overdose on uninspired Hollywood blockbusters. My main go-to place is rottentomatoes.com. I really enjoyed watching movies like The Lunch Box, La Grande Bellezza, Melangolia and Le Havre for instance. When it comes to music, I have to admit being a little more of a Radiohead fanatic than I'd like to admit. When I'm not listening to those half gods, I'm probably listening to bands like White Denim, Groundation, the Mars Volta, Hiatus Kaiyote, Tame Impala... stuff like that. I'd like to be as openminded to different kinds of music as possible, although I'll mostly stick with stuff I already know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, traveling has definitely been a great experience for me! Hiking in the Annapurna region, doing a 10-day Vipassana meditation course, tubing down the Mekong or whatever river it was. Awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

Yeah let's do this indeed! I'll play you some Radiohead if you'd like. Not sure what else to mention in this section :D
