Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope to make many few friends on my travels and figure couch-surfing could be a fun way to do this. I am considerate, polite, and easy going. I will respect your home and am excited to meet those willing to host.

Interests

I am interested in many things. I enjoy outdoor activities, hiking, rock climbing (mostly sport some trad), fishing, basketball, volleyball, etc. I also love to read and am fascinated with different cultures, if someone is excited to tell me something I'm excited to listen. I really enjoy meeting new people and love more then anything to laugh and enjoy a good meal and drinks with friends both new and old.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Classic Rock, Country (I know... I'm sorry :), newer music like house and hip hop, classical (Bach, Mendelssohn are my favorite true classical artists and Ludovico Einaudi is my fav. contemporary artist), I also enjoy listening to new music, and cultural / traditional music.
Movies: Forest Gump, Gladiator, Step Brothers, Old school, Lord of the Rings, Gangs of New York, Meet Joe Black, Tommy Boy, Happy Gilmore, Farris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club.
Books: Shantaram, Rich Dad Poor Dad, All The Pretty Horses, Candide, Fahrenheit 451, The E Myth, The Magic of Thinking Big, The Great Divorce, Lord of the Rings series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled to my Grandfather's village in Sicily with only pictures of him and was able to find my relatives. Since then I've been back several times and made wonderful friendships with distant relatives.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: English, American Sports, Science topics, good with children.
Learn: Anything and everything! I am excited to learn and love to get to know new people.
Share: I am happy to help financially during my time and can share music, recipes, my time. I am always willing to help and be a part of any work that may present itself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am able bodied and can help with things around a yard or house. I am comfortable helping with verbal English (not a strong writer) most science subjects (ie: human physiological sciences, chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, etc.). I love kids and am happy to help with homework if that is needed. I have a few dishes that I can cook well and would be happy to share these.
