Overview
About Me
I am a South African but currently Iive in Budapest with my long term girlfriend. I am studying Veterinary Medicine while she is teaching English. We are wanting to spend all of our available time travelling as much as possible!
I would describe myself as adventurous, relaxed and social. I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures and nationalities.
My passion is NATURE. I am my best self when I am surrounded by greenery and wild things. My hope one day is to live in nature and lead a self-sufficient and sustainable lifestyle.
I love to cook and try my hardest to eat (mainly) vegetarian. Exploring new cuisines is high on my priority list alongside hiking every inch of the earth. My bucket list items are primarily hikes and beaches with a sprinkle of tourist attractions here and there.
Exercise and moving my body are so important for me. I feel as though I fall apart with it. It centres me in a way that journaling simply can’t do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all genres of music and don’t have any specific preference. Concerts and music festivals will always be my vibe.
I prefer reading non-fiction, educational books but my girlfriend is trying (and succeeding) to convert me to reading fantasy. The Witcher book series will be my next books.
I love any movies but Shrek 1 will forever be one of my favourites. “I like that boulder. That is a niiiice boulder.”
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I completed 160kms worth of the Desert Dash cycling race in Namibia at 18 years old and 3 days after my matric vacation (similar to a spring break). I felt AWFUL and had bronchitis afterward! I only finished two thirds of the race but I’m still very proud.
I moved 13000kms away from home at 22 years old to pursue my dream of studying veterinary medicine. This one took a lot of courage and I’m so grateful for my amazing support system.
I hope to make this section a lot longer as time goes on, but for now that’s it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have got a wide range of knowledge regarding nature. I can identify a few trees, plants and flowers and probably give you some botany facts about them. I managed a beef farm for 6 months and am very good with my hands. I can also tell you so much about cows if you’re interested! ;) I also have an obsession with all things mushroom and fungi. I must be honest, I have not kept up with the Kardashians or any of the other celebrities, although my girlfriend does try to keep me in the loop.
I am hoping to spend a large chunk of my 2024 summer holidays cycling from the South of France to Rome. Any and all recommendations would be highly appreciated. I do not have a bike with me as I’m backpacking, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out ;)
I hope to share with people that there is more to life than materialistic things, keeping up to date with the trends or being the ‘it’ person. I feel like you learn nothing about yourself or life if you’re simply following what other people like and what they’re doing. It’s so important to focus on who you are, who you want to be and what you want to your life to look like. Because it’s YOUR life.
