About Me

CURRENT MISSION
enjoy the humanity in medicine, the art in the everyday, and the wonder in life

ABOUT ME
grew up in Pennsylvania, have lived in RI and CA, and now I'm a resident physician in emergency medicine at Brigham and Women's and Mass General Hospital here in Boston.

I live with my wife, Monica, who grew up in LA and loves to have fun outdoors, snowboard, skateboard, spend time with family and friends, and eat good food.

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, meet new folks, see new places, eat new food, experience new cultures, and Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to do that!!!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
at the moment, just to keep in touch

(first) COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
september 2007 - A good friend and I stayed with a wonderful couple, Vanya and Damir, in Zagreb, Croatia. We ate and drank with them, they showed us maps of their country, and treated us to their fresh chestnut honeycomb! What amazing folks!

I have crashed on my share of impromptu couches and hotel floors too. Always up for the adverture.

Hangover Prevention 101:

0> Alcohol causes hangovers via vitamin deficiency and dehydration (but mostly dehydration)

so to prevent and treat hangovers, try the following:

1> once you're as tipsy as you please, start drinking a glass of water for every one of booze. (beer bottles make great glasses)
2> before passing out, drink a big glass of sugar-water (or gatorade) and take a multivitamin. (our intestines actually need sugar to absorb water!)
3> in the morning drink some OJ (or sugar-water) +/- coffee, with ibuprofen or naproxen if you have a headache. (NO TYLENOL/acetamenophen/paracetamol as it can cause liver failure when mixed with heavy drinking, and avoid aspirin as it can be hard on an empty stomach)
4> take a shower. (clearing your pores will let those leftover toxins out.)
5> if you still feel crumby, drink two beers and eat a meal. no kidding.

Can also teach:
zymurgy, juggling, houseplant care, skateboarding, CPR
