About Me
I've been incredibly lucky so far and have actually got to see a decent amount of the world for someone my age. Most recently this has been through touring as a musician, which is an amazing experience but not always the best way to travel, as you're actually working most of the time and rarely get to see much of the places you're visiting. I really appreciate meeting other people though, especially people who live differently to me (which is a lot of people). Music has been my passion since my teens, and I've also been incredibly lucky to be able to pursue that to the degree that I have.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a big believer in community, sharing and openness towards other people, and Couchsurfing espouses all of these ideas. Right now I'm at a stage in my life where I feel comfortable accepting the hospitality and kindness of strangers, and more than comfortable, excited by the opportunity that presents. When I'm at a point where I'm more stable in my lifestyle I fully intend to pay that forward by hosting full time, and giving other people some of the same opportunities I've had.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite music is always tricky, but my absolute favourite band is The Flaming Lips for sure. Other big ones for me include They Might Be Giants, MF DOOM, Chad VanGaalen, Wayne Shorter, Radiohead and Cate Le Bon. I could honestly go on forever.
Movies is a little simpler, my top two are definitely Frank and Synecdoche, New York. Charlie Kaufmann is probably my favourite screenwriter, and the stuff he's directed is incredible. Other favourites would include Swiss Army Man, Aterrados, and almost anything the Coen Brothers have done.
I used to read avidly when I was younger but sadly I've dropped off considerably. Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy is still one of my all time favourites, and I recently read the novel for 2001: A Space Oddysey which I enjoyed more than the movie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met one of my heroes, Wayne Coyne (of The Flaming Lips), and for me that was a pretty surreal and amazing thing to do. In that moment I could see all the little steps that had led me to that moment, and it was kind of profound. That's a pretty personal one though, and if I was trying to impress people I would probably say something more like playing a festival with Patti Smith. But I think most things people do can be pretty amazing, so I don't know.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always down for sharing my views on basically anything, just make sure to interrupt me if I really get going as I'm still working on leaving space for other people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An enthusiasm for life that borders on naivety, an interest in most things human and a desire to learn and grow. And some solid music recommendations.
