About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see the world and meet new and different people, unlike people I have met before. I feel I get to know myself better when I share experiences.. maybe if I meet the right people I will find out what my next step in life will be after this trip I

ABOUT ME

I like to make people laugh and that's usually how I become friends with people. I would say that I have a sense of humour in common with most my friends. I hope that my best frinds would say that I'm good for a laugh and self depricating. My best friends are also people I trust and I like making time over food or coffee to share what's going on.

PHILOSOPHY

ahhh.. live and let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm quite laid back. I like to get out and about with people to see sights when I'm travelling. I ask questions to find out about people, try to find out what makes people tick before I just blab about myself and what I've been up to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm just starting to use couch surfing but I made friends with a traveller in Bangkok and she hosted me back in Sheffield when I came to Europe. She has hosted people before and I loved the experience. We might meet in France if she can get away from work so I left a good impression I think. I've lived in a share house in Melbourne and had many international travellers and students come through. I love showing my favourite parts of Melbourne, so I've been informely hosting different people for years.

Interests

I love to travel becasue I enjoy exploring, searching out new places and learning from people about how they live in different parts of the world. In Melbourne I've shown many people from around the world that have come through our share house my favourite haunts in the city and how to eat and drink well on a budget. I love good food, independent music and cinema as well as live music, which Melbourne is a mecca for.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the Coen Brothers films a lot. Jim Jarmusch, films as well I think Johhny Depp in Dead Man may be my favourite film. I live opposite a great cinema in Melbourne, so I see a lot of alternative cinema. I liked Let the Right Onew in (Swedish version).
I like drum and bass to dance to and 60s stuff like Neil Young Carole King. Also some heavier stuff like Soundgarden, Screaming Trees.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really enjoyed hiring a scooter on a diving island, Koh Tao in Thailand. I found the island quite touristy but if you get a scooter and get it to some of the rusta bars on the south the accommodation is cheap and beautiful and the company and food are much more ecclectic. It's dangerous though so because they hire out pristine scooters and charge exhorbitant amounts for any scratches. I was lucky enough to find an english Ex-pat who hires out older scooters with no deposit and he told me about some of the most amazing places on that island! \it never would have happened if I had not gone in to ask about the Sunday roast. So if you are ever looking for a scooter in Koh Tao be sure to follow your nose to the best Sunday roasts you will find in koh Tao.

I came to London via kashmir and stayed in a beautiful village called Pahalgam. I hiked into the mountains to about 5000m in four days and met tribesmen and gypsies on the remote cattle tracks. It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful in the mountains and my two guides cooked amazing local dishes and looked after our supplies on pack hores. The influence of muslim culture was an interesting change from my travels in the rest of India. When I got sick on my way to the town I was taken in by a local elder and the opportunity to meet his family and see how they trade in cattle and crops was facinating.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wow, what am I good at.. I like cooking for people. I like relating travel tips, about places I've loved or good ways to get around and travel on a budget. I like trying new things and relating it to something from home which I can share. I do yoga everyday and teach streaches to people. I've got a lot of knowledge about alternative medicing and some ayevedic knowledge from travelling in India. I became a better meditator in India as well!
