About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently Travelling for 6 Months in South America - Sept 16' - March 17'

ABOUT ME

We are a young married couple who love to travel, experience the world and other cultures. We both love travelling and have both together and separately explored parts of the world, we are both passionate about social justice and it is very hard to travel and not see what a blessed country we live in and how we have a responsibility to others less fortunate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We both have many friends we've visited overseas and friends from abroad living in Australia. Having friends from other cultures has enriched our lives so much and we want to continued adding to that network, be that through hosting, couchsurfing or meeting up. Currently we cannot host as we are travelling, not sure where we will be living but look forward to hosting wherever we are.

Interests

We both love travelling, meeting new people and experiencing other cultures. We love food - eating out and hosting people for dinner. We love music, reading, movies. Bec sings, plays piano and some guitar.

While on this trip Bec started a travel blog:

http://www.bechoney.com

Josiah likes computer gaming and robotics, and just finished his PhD in Computer Science.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bec - travel memoirs, suspense novels, biographies. Love all kinds of movies - but my favourite is The Holiday - it's become our tradition to watch it every Christmas.

Josiah - action, sci-fi fantasy books and movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing we have done was meet our sponsored child and her family in the Phillippines. She has a rare medical condition that without a sponsor probably wouldn't have survived. It was such a humbling experience and a moment neither of us will ever forget!

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning Spanish - most recently in Sucre, Bolivia
can meet up for Language exchange if others want to improve their English

What I Can Share with Hosts

For us it's about the experience, not saving money. We can afford to pay for accommodation for us its about making new friends and sharing new experiences.
