About Me

Artist/sculptor/carpenter. Love working hard and making art. Love learning new things and helping other people do the same.

Josievogelstudio.com for art n things

Moving to Hudson, New York for a job in June. Trying to use couch surfing to find a temporary/longish term living situation because this seems less sketchy than craigslist.

Personal Philosophy: Be kind, be happy, clean up after yourself, drink lots of water, don't worry about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im moving at some point in the coming months for a job! But I have zero connections in the locality and couch surfing seems like the least sketchy way to find someone who needs a roommate for a couple of summer months. haven't got many references, but I have couch surfed before in NYC, though it was through a friends account.

Interests

Reading, running, jumping, dancing, hiking, cooking, music, and road trips of course!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like listening to mostly anything. I'm not trendy, but I love hearing things I haven't heard before. The Black Keys, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Chance the Rapper, Frank Ocean, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Modest mouse

I haven't been watching movies lately. Actually I'm way behind. I still haven't seen interstellar. But I do like movies when I get to watching 'em!

Currently getting into some Murakami books, recently read Minor Characters by Joyce Johnson which was amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived and worked in an artist community at Franconia sculpture park In The summer of 2015. Made a neat dance floor that is exhibiting there currently

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to crochet, do headstands, twerk(but you're gonna need to dedicate), how to make bread. Random areas of knowledge to share include various oceanic dance traditions, general western art history, the colonization of Brazil, Gender issues/ feminism and masculine identity social theory, some beat lit history.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook for you! I bake bread, can work with italian cuisine style, spices characteristic of Indian cooking, and can make pretty ok salads when called upon to do so. Good conversations and the like.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Israel, Italy
