About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning through others with different cultures and ideals is the best kind of education. Travel is a fantastic 'open university'!
ABOUT ME
For a 25 year old, I sure do love to travel and have done since I was 16 and I first visited my dad in his new home country of Spain. I see travelling the world as a second source of education to further my law degree which I graduated with in June 2011. Unfortunately, as yet I cannot afford to fund my Master's degree in the United States and so I have decided to embark upon a journey of the world whereby I can learn from others, grow as a person and move more towards settling down in the beautiful city of San Francisco and finally live out my dream of practising law. I think it's important in life to meet as many people from different cultures and backgrounds as possible-because each and every person has the capability of teaching you a new lesson-and think of the stories one can tell their grandchildren in years to come!
Of course, I also love to give back to the people whom I have forged friendships with-as learning from one another works both ways [I hope!] I love to host new friends and living in new countries every year [out of my own choice and drive] has led to many such occasions. I'd like to take forging friendships to the next level-by meeting new people that like to travel as much as I do and seeing them in the different worlds they live in!
PHILOSOPHY
Education can come from all directions. The world is my education, what is yours?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to be able to host, once I get my own place-as right now I am occupying my dad's sofa!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I loved my experiences in Italy last summer and made friends for life-some of whom I will link up in this next upcoming week!
Interests
I LOVE photography and just the general capturing of a new situation. There is nothing better than coming to a new city, knowing nothing and barely anybody and making a new life for yourself; forging friendships, making friends with the guys at the corner ice cream parlour, finding work and earning money, renting with new people, finding romance and seeing a side of the city that little tourists would ever dream of experiencing. I have often looked back over the [six] months I have lived in a place and thought about the development in my life and my friends' lives since I first moved there-and it is extraordinary! Capturing these moments on camera, for me, only makes the experience more real!
I also love to exert my work ethic and expertise into new situations. I literally will do any work so long as it has the capacity to support a frugal lifestyle. Whether it's manual labour, IT, teaching, research...you name it, I love it and with travelling, you take what work you can get---and that's such an awesome way to making yourself a more rounded person!
Like any reasonable girl [ha] I love fashion, the arts [although I am terrible at any art apart from photography tehe], mild sports [wakeboarding, snowboarding, bike riding], the beach etc etc. But, in all honesty, I don't know what all of my interests are yet-and that's one of the biggest aims of my 7 year travel stint: I want to make other peoples' interests my interests by experiencing new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
Open to all music...love to watch movies about conspiracy theories and/or current affairs. Books-noughts and crosses by malorie blackman...what a fantastic way to educate young teens on why we should be open-minded tolerant human beings.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. The move to San Francisco-how that changed my entire outlook on education, perseverance, and giving back to others...as well as knowing for the first time that I could cope on my own at 19 without my parents, but with the support and friendships of new and interesting people!
2. Volunteering at a human rights NGO in Cape Town-The clients I met and how dire their situation was made me take a step back and realise what I have and how blessed my life has been. As my romance blossomed with a local, he taught me how important it is to reach for your dreams and aspirations whilst also working hard on your permanent relationships with family members and friends. All the travelling I had been doing had obviously taken its toll on my parents and siblings and I was able to concentrate more on what I could give back to them upon my return.
Teach, Learn, Share
Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans. Breathe in the moments that allow you to pause and look at what has become because they are irregular, immeasurable and irreplaceable.
