About Me
ABOUT ME
I am originally from a provincial capital in the south of Ukraine. However, I left my hometown when I was just 6 to probably never move back. I spent 10 years in Moscow studying at a secondary school. Since the age of 16 I have been living on my own in The Netherlands, being busy with study, work or both at the same time. I am quite an easy-going and optimistic person, tolerant to others and normally get along well with people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only had positive experience with both hosting and surfing experience so far.
Interests
There are many things I am interested in. Those include but are not limited to traveling, foreign languages, meeting new people, learning new things, planning for the future, human psychology, reading, doing sports, dancing, singing karaoke (sometimes it sounds terrible but is still fun to do) and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have an unlimited cinema ticket at a local cinema network and I often go to watch something with my friends or on my own. Any film genre is fine with me apart from horror perhaps.
I would most prefer music that I can dance to but I would not be able to name a favourite artist or band if you ask me.
Reading is something that I greatly enjoy but can't do as much as I would wish to. In principle I prefer to read not just for entertainment but to learn something new too. Most books you would find om my shelves (apart from compulsory textbooks) are historic novels, travel guidebooks and literature on psychology (mostly dealing with relations between people or personal development).
I have also recently started a huge project of reading the most important books of humanity. My results so far are quite modest - I've re-read the Bible and read the Qur'an. There are hundreds of more books in my "to read" list and it will likely take a lifetime to accomplish...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quite a few. Riding elephants in Thailand for example :)
Teach, Learn, Share
There is always something one can learn or teach when meeting new people. I try to learn at least one particular skill from each of my good friends. This way I can always remember them when doing it again.
What can you learn from me? For example, I can teach you how to set your priorities in life or make plans for the next 20 years! I know it's a bold statement, but I believe I can at least bring you a step closer to that.
Moreover, I can teach you some ballroom dancing. I used to learn it for 5 years as a child and even took part in the Moscow dancing competition once. It was quite long ago but I still remember the basic moves at least.
And then there is cooking of course. Having lived together with other international students for many years certainly helps in this regard. How about a Ukrainian borscht as a first course, Uzbek pilaf as a main dish and then a sweet Vietnamese banana soup in coconut milk for a dessert? I can cook that and more!
