ABOUT ME

My name is Jove! I am an He(art)ist, A dream walker and a lover of all things Space. I am currently in the midst of writing a science fiction world that dwells in the vestibules of my imagination. I'm pretty green guy but I also have some purple and maroon in my repertoire. Am a lover of learning. Each day I am on the quest towards cultivating knowledge & wisdom. I love to skateboard, play guitar and cook gumbo when time/space permits me and connect to the people.

I've lived in Brooklyn for two years working as an apprentice to a music producer and being the second half of an art-punk duo. I have also lived in Chicago, IL working as a stage actor in the theater scene & performance art-mystic in the underworlds of the Metropolis. I am currently on my way to study my craft deeper at the California College of the Arts as a writing major.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal Philosophy:

We are not guaranteed to live tomorrow. We walk around the world as if each day is granted as the norm, but that is one of the illusion that the first world has allowed us to construct around ourselves. We are all headed to the dust one way or another. Death is always lurking on you, making sure you don't forgot about Him. So I believe in living life with the reverence and beauty to the fact that this is a miracle. That to get to experience the rotation or the cypher of the earth is a gift. Make sure that when you return to the dust, that the dash in the middle of your born day and your date of departure are filled up with what was inside of your heart.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My intentions are always to be authentic and to speak from the heart without being too serious. I am definitely a Yes, but have tendencies of a introvert at times. I operate like a painter b/c I make music although my primary craft is in performance. The balance is in being as real as one can in each moment. I usually have a hard time with people who make face.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couched surf with a theater troupe from Chicago on a tour of a play we did on Hurricane Katrina. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed getting to connect with North America that way.

I would say that I am like a vegan hipster when it comes to consuming culture. Its because when you're a writing science fiction everything makes an impression on you. You absorb in all the intricacies of things. I practice a soul diet which consist of the listening to that feeling in the gut that tells you that something is for you versus the desire to consume as a means of escape. I am a student on the earth school so I like to explore many realms. I am mainly into anthologies of voices when it comes to literature. Interviews of people talking about subjects, their lives. I like poetry, non fiction.

I like listening to all music. I live here. I find though the less words, the more appealing it is too me.

When it comes to films what I like to do is not watch them until I'm really tired, almost on the brinks of falling asleep. If it keeps me awake then I know its a good film. Good films should keep you awake.

Seen: Saw the moon on a mountain in Wyoming sit so close to the earth that you felt like you could jump over on it with a running head start. It started off with a golden glow, then the Northern lights came in and distilled/distorted the sky to the point that a lime green hue started to come off of it. I was in such awe-struck that I was standing on this mountain for hours and as the sun was rising the Moon turned PURPLE! I'm not making this up and I was not on any drug but the one of LIFE!

I have more to learn than I have to teach. Meditation is something I find to be very helpful to human develop. I am looking to learn the art of meditating and discover ways to truly practice it in respects to my discipline as an artist. I am also looking to learn how to sew clothes for I would like to figure out how to sew my pants when they rip. Which happens quite often b/c I'm a dancer of reality. I've had to adopt holey jeans to my style and not by choice. I also would like to make clothes for my friends. Lastly, I would like to learn how to surf (no pun intended). Its actually one of the most important things on my path in Life.
