About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling as a puppeteer!

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty much your standard traveling puppeteer with a silly sense of humor and a love of learning almost anything.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to leave the world a little better for my being here.

Other than that, I guess I believe in happiness and personal self-fulfillment.

You know, the usual stuff.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm traveling around the western United States with my touring partner as a puppeteer for Tears of Joy Theatre. Because I'm rarely home (in Portland), I can't really offer up a couch at the moment. But I wish I could!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've spent some time sleeping on friends' couches, let me tell you. And I've used CouchSurfing to find places to stay on tour.

I like to offer hospitality to people when I can, because I love guests.

Interests

Oh man, pretty much anything you throw at me. I love theatre (obviously), playing music and singing (badly), telling stories. I do like getting out into nature--camping, hiking, etc. I'm in love with the Pacific Ocean. I have this weird love of helping people move house. I am also a big fan of going to bars and/or just hanging out. I have a bit of an internet addiction, and so I love computers. And card and board games.

Music, Movies, and Books

The best movies ever made are the Nightmare on Elm Street series. This is not a matter of opinion. This is solid fact, based in science.

My favorite musicians and composers include the Dresden Dolls, Pink Floyd/Roger Waters, Dar Williams, 3 Leg Torso, Vagabond Opera, Clare Fader, Philip Glass, John Adams, Schubert, Kurt Weill, Flanders and Swann, Blood Sweat and Tears, Marlene Dietrich, Claude Bolling...

My favorite books include Death in Venice, Cat's Cradle, Life: A User's Manual, and the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay, Sara Teasdale, Ernest Dowson, and Charles Baudelaire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to take an absolutely life changing trip to the Galapagos Islands which included such amazing experiences as playing in the water with a baby sea lion and meeting the last survivor of a species of tortoises.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can juggle! And play the ukulele and the accordion! Probably some other stuff too...

I keep wanting to learn how to knit!
