Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Joy — a traveler, healer, and lover of authentic connection. I value spaces where people can simply be—real, relaxed, and curious about life. I tend to move through the world slowly and intentionally, often following intuition more than itinerary.
I love local food, nature, and good conversation—the kind that leaves you feeling more alive or understood. Whether we’re cooking, exploring a market, sharing stories, or sitting quietly by the ocean, I enjoy the kind of company that feels easeful and genuine.
I’m passionate about embodiment, healing, and helping people reconnect with their natural vitality. My work revolves around energy, emotion, and expression—but I also love the everyday things that make life rich: music, gardens, sunshine, laughter, and nourishing meals shared with kind people.
Couchsurfing, for me, is about more than a place to stay—it’s about connection and exchange. I’m grateful for every opportunity to meet open-hearted humans and share a glimpse of life together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travel is about connection, not just movement. Couchsurfing feels like a way to experience places through real people—their rhythms, stories, and ways of life. I love the idea of sharing space in a way that’s rooted in trust, generosity, and curiosity.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a lover of all kinds of music and I would describe my taste as eclectic. I have used this love in many ways including djing at my college radio station and have made hundreds of playlists for ecstatic dances.
Even though I studied Film for my Bachelors degree, I actually have not watched a movie in years. I desire less screen time these days.
I am always slowly working through 4-5 self-help/spirituality/wellness books at any given time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent 5 months volunteering in North Carolina to support the recovery after Hurricane Helene.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I love sharing about emotional healing, embodiment, and the art of living from presence. I can offer insights or simple practices for releasing stress and reconnecting to your body’s natural intelligence. I also enjoy exchanging ideas around energy, intuition, conscious communication, and creating more vitality through nourishment and self-awareness. I also have ample experience in gardening.
Learn:
I’m endlessly curious about how people live and what gives their lives meaning. I love learning about different cultures, traditional foods, ways of relating to the land, and personal philosophies. I’m also always open to learning practical skills—gardening, homesteading, local cooking, music, or anything creative and hands-on.
Share:
I share warmth, calm, and genuine connection wherever I go. I love cooking together, going for nature walks, listening deeply, and creating space for real conversation. Whether it’s laughter, stories, silence, or a meal, I enjoy sharing presence—the kind that leaves us both a little more human and alive.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a calm, respectful, and kind presence in your home. I love creating a sense of ease and genuine connection—whether that means sharing stories, cooking a meal together, or simply enjoying quiet company.
I’m happy to help with light cooking, tidying, or garden work if that’s supportive. I can also share what I’ve learned about energy healing and emotional wellbeing for those who are curious.
Mostly, I bring warmth, gratitude, and presence. I treat every stay as an exchange of care—leaving the space (and hopefully the energy) a little lighter and more peaceful than I found it.
