ABOUT ME

I grew up in Northern California, in a small town by the ocean, I have been traveling from an early age going all over Mexico and the United States with my mom.

I went to Berkeley, where I was a proud and enthusiastic member of the Cal Band. It was fun four years! After graduation I spent the summer working, backpacked around Europe, my first solo trip. In January 2001 I headed to Honduras with the Peace Corps. I stayed in Honduras for almost four and a half years and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

I returned in June of 2005. It was a bit of a rough adjustment, but I was glad to be home. My boyfriend and I drove cross country and I got to see more of my native land. I spent two years getting a Masters in Environmental Management at Duke and really grew to love North Carolina.

After North Carolina, I spent two Austral summer seasons working Antarctica. During that time I was also able to travel around New Zealand, Southeast Asia and northern South America. I really enjoyed all those places and I definitely look forward to future adventures. For now though, I am enjoying working and living in Berkeley.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is an amazing adventure no matter what you are doing and you might as well enjoy every minute. And trusting in people has generally served me well, I have encountered far more wonderful and delightful people in my life than mean ones. You just have to trust in others and in yourself.

I helped a village of 200 people get running water and latrines. Wonderful!
