Hi! I'm Joy, a UX researcher and designer based in Taiwan.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me cycling, hiking, river tracing, meditating, or reading a book somewhere quiet.

Recently, I went on a solo trip to Kyoto, Japan which is one of the best trip I ever had. Solo travel gave me space to meet myself deeply, and somehow, it also brought beautiful souls to me. The spaces I left open, unplanned, undefined, became the most meaningful part of this journey. Everything was so naturally, so beautifully. I’d love to share my travel experiences with you:)

A bit more about me, I’m passionate about indigenous cultures in Taiwan. Every year, I visit the east coast to join local music festivals and community events. I love learning about my own culture and also exploring others’. I’m especially proud of Taiwanese culture, I speak Taiwanese and would be happy to teach you some if you’re interested!

In the past, I lived in California, Colorado, and Texas, and also worked in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Each place left a unique mark on me, and I’m excited to keep learning through new connections.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After the pandemic, I got a little too comfortable with the peaceful life back home... but recently, I’ve been reconnecting with my love for exploring, meeting new people, and discovering new perspectives.

My friend has been on Couchsurfing for years, she’s always telling me fun stories about hosting travelers and staying with locals. It made me really want to join and be part of this community too!
