ABOUT ME

I am currently in Portland. I moved here because my cousin was gracious enough to let me crash with him for a few weeks until I got resettled in the states. I want to move back to Europe eventually to pursue an Opera career, but for the time being I am working/saving money and enjoying everything the Northwest has to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

I just created my own personal creed, which was a fantastic process of evaluating what I find important. I am trying to live by, and apply the following:

To be fully invested in my relationships, and devoted to the hardwork of being the best that I can be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am unfortunately unable to house anyone right now, but I would love to meet people for coffee, beer, wine, etc. I am fascinated by people. I also plan on going to Burning Man this year, it's been a long time coming :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I WWOOFed at CaPenelope in Maranello, and Valentina is a couch surfer. She introduced me to it, and I was able to couch surf with people in Poland, and ran into couch surfers all over in my adventures.

I love history and different cultures. I enjoy people watching and anything that involves understanding the human experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - I love dramas or movies that make me think. I am also into indie films. Music - DMB, Counting Crows, Radiohead... I am a big classical music fan, and I love jazz. I grew up in Jazz bars as a kid.

Books - I am more into plays and short stories than novels, anything by Inge, O'neill, Tennessee Williams, or Oscar Wilde. I love classical literature like Boccacio's "Decameron," or De Rojas' "La Celestina." My favorite play is "Death of a Salesman"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is one area where I have no idea what to put. I have lived a thousand lives in my short time span, and in the words of a friend here in Portland..."Joe you always have the craziest stories of things that you've done. You just never expect to hear them" To which I reply, "since you are a coworker...those are kind of just the tip of the iceberg."

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - Music (singing, theory, piano, guitar...) I have a MM in Music. I want to learn Italian. I love to cook, so I would love to teach, learn, and share food :-)
