I recently graduated college and I've ditched whatever semblance of a plan I had. As my real life started I realized I couldn't sit still. Visiting places is great, but I'm most interested in culture and the people who make it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always give a couch when I can, but right now I am unable. Definitely hit me up for coffee or a drink if you're in Boston/ Cambridge.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A good friend got me into CS, and I had a great experience this past summer (2010) hosting several surfers at my family's vacation house on the Cape. We felt so comfortable at the end of the weekend, in fact, that I gave them the keys and they stayed another day after we left. I think this is a great community and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

Interesses

Skiing, sailing, photography, beer around a campfire any time of year, great food in unlikely places, a night out with friends.

Recently I've wasted a lot of time on Reddit and watching videos on TED, but I've also been learning how to cook (emphasis on learning) and writing quite a bit (short articles for online magazines mostly).

I'm traveling with a camera and I'm very interested in documenting my travels and meeting people with interesting stories to tell.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

In 2006 I took a short trip to India. For several days I stayed with a family in a rural village. I was in the foot hills of the Himalayas and my trip up steep, winding roads had been foggy from low cloud cover. My taxi just went up and up into the thick mist. Near the top the son of the family, a bit older than myself, was expecting me along the side of the road and we walked a couple miles to their house. With a nearly 100% language barrier, the first day with the family was filled with laughs, smiles, and some confusion as we traded gifts. The nan was amazing!! I woke up in the night needing the bathroom and found my way out of the small, concrete house perched on the edge of the mountain. Looking out where there had been clouds hours before I was stunned by a thousand tiny lights spread out below me. I had thought we were far from civilization, but in reality there were people everywhere. I could see lights all the way to the horizon. It a was a moment where my entire perspective changed in an instant. The whole experience had a big impact on me.

I'm pretty handy with anything relating to camping or wilderness survival (eagle scout). I know some killer recipes for Eggplant Parm and Carbonera (but I'm definitely interested to learn more). I can also tap dance, swing dance, juggle and walk on a giant ball.
