ABOUT ME

Hi everyone, I am a 20 year old male from California attending UCLA and studying Political Science and History as well as western European languages. I am a fun and outgoing person that loves the thrill of travel and adventure. As such, I have aligned my academic drive with my aspirations for travelling by taking use of my university's study abroad program. As an international relations concentration, travelling and studying different countries has been a perfect way to study the theory behind the politics and the culture and people as a means of understanding the culture and the world arorund me. I always try to maintain a positive attitude about life and have learned that waiting and hoping is merely a stepping stone to turning dream into reality. I hope to meet new people and friends I will remember and know for life.

PHILOSOPHY

I create my own philosophy by living life one step at a time and by reinforcing and developing my personal culture as a human being. I maintain a laid back and level headed attitude even when stressful situations arise allowing me to get clarity from difficult situations. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted people at my apartment in Westwood and have had positive experiences couch surfing. the first time in Berlin was unforgettable since our couchsurfer was able to give us a tour of Germany while leading us to the largest zoo in Europe, stumbled onto the Berlin wall, Salvador museum, watched the final Harry Potter movie all within the 1st day!

I am very open to music and always like to keep my ear open for a good band or artist. Some of my favorite movies include: The Science of Sleep, Fight Club, The Dreamers, Inception, Harry Potter series, La Vie Heroique, Superbad, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, V for Vendetta, My Friend Totoro, Spirited Away, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Toy Story, Where the Wild things Are, The Adventure of Tin Tin, and anything that captures and inspires creativity or critical thought is a good enough for me.Favorite Books include: Les Miserables, Watership Down, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Road, Harry Potter series, Siddartha, Catch-22, Don Quixote, The Great Gatsby, Blindness by Jose Saramago, The Giving Tree, and many more books that have shaped my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado as a High School student and got to interact to many politicians around my country and even local neighborhood. The event got ingrained in my memory given that I saw Barack Obama, the 1st American President of color, receive and accept the title of the headrunner of the Democratic Party for Presidency. Seeing American politics first hand gave me a completely different perception of politicians and the way the world is shaped.
