I would consider myself an Avid Adventure Appreciator. I enjoy getting outside, being active, and meeting new people along the way. Traveling, or, more accurately in my case, living & working in new, exciting, popular travel destinations, has allowed me opportunities to spend a bit more time in interesting places.
Get Outside And Live Spontaneously. There's a whole bunch of 'carpe diem' quotes I could put here, but that's not my style; life's too short.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although not officially, I've hosted CSers through friends in Alaska. Also not officially, whenever I met a person in need of a place to stay and I am able to offer accomodations, I will gladly do so, knowing what it can be like on the other side of the table.. or couch, in any case.
Most recently, in the fall of 2012, I drove from Alaska to Los Angeles, then on to Wisconsin, sleeping in my car and on friends' couches or floors along the way. I did this all without CS, but can say I would have liked to met some CSers along the way.
Any activity that brings me into the outdoors with like-minded individuals, especially off the beaten track. In more urban areas, inundating myself in local culture is always a must.
Music, Movies, and Books
Live music. Musicians who do it for the love of music. Directors who do it for the love of film. Authors who.. can tell a story in less than 200 pages.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in Valdez, Alaska for two summer seasons as a sea kayak guide provided the arena for countless experiences, both on and off the water, to explore and appreciate the immaculate landscape.
Teach, Learn, Share
