Hi! I travel a lot and have a passion for skiing. I also do a lot of hiking. I only work sporadically (short term consultancy work in the university sector), so I usually have some time to show people around if they stay. I am also a bit of a writer (fiction) so spend time on that.

I have had good experiences using AirBnB. One of my AirBnB hosts also has couchsurfers stay at her place and uses Couchsurfing herself when she travels. She was so enthusiastic about couch surfing, I thought I should join in.

I like a lot of music but mostly listen to alternative/indie rock. Favourite live band (and ski soundtrack!) is Rammstein - saw them in Paris and Berlin live on the LIFAD tour. Seen Muse a couple of times live. Others I currently listen to: Children Collide, REM, Missy Higgins, Sarah Blasko, 70s, 80s, 90s stuff. Also like wide range of movies. Again indie movies but also Tarantino, stuff like Love Actually. Team America World Police and Tropic Thunder!!! Books: John le Carre, Stuart Macbride. Usually serial killer, espionage, murder fiction.

Hmmmmm. I guess falling off a cliff and getting trapped overnight on the Vallee Blanche in Chamonix .... and surviving. But also hiking in Karijini National Park, swimming with dolphins at Ningaloo, skydiving, skiing chest deep powder in Japan, skiing awesome steep powder pitches in Canada, etc etc.
