About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See everything we can. There's always something to learn.

ABOUT ME

This profile is for my best friend Alyssa and I (Jessica). We're planning our first big travel adventure and we're looking to couchsurf as we go.

We're both pretty easy-going people. We like to stay active and busy, but we also love to lounge on the couch every now and then...especially with a good movie and food ordered in. We like smaller group settings, rather than huge crowds. We're not big drinkers but we can hold our own in a party setting. We like to talk, Jessica more than Alyssa, but Alyssa will laugh at any/all jokes. We're very low-maintenencce people.

PHILOSOPHY

Live-Learn-Grow-Progress.
We both believe that there is something to be learned in every experience, and the only way to really live is to collect as many experiences as we can. The best lessons don't come from a textbook. An open mind is a powerful thing, and good food, good music, and good people are some of the best things in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're new to the couchsurfing community, but we're planning on exploring it further in our upcoming travels. We're hoping to participate as fully as we can, and we're open to the amazing experiences available through couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far, but anxious to get started.

Interests

As far as shared interests go, traveling is at the top of our list. We're both former college athletes, so we share a love for sports. We both live very active lives, and outdoor activities are important to us. We're also both interested in yoga, reading, photography, MUSIC, food/cooking, movies.
Individually we have some other interests as well...
Alyssa:
Statistics, education, musicals, crafts, photo/film editing, and cleaning.
Jessica:
Writing, poetry, art & theater, hiking, baking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jessica: I went on a mission trip to Mexico a few years ago and got to work in an orphanage. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever done.
Alyssa: I've traveled to Japan and the Philippines with my family. My mother is filipino and my father is Japanese (I'm japapino), so it was awesome to get to visit the two cultures that are such a big part of my life.
We were both on the team that won our league championships and it was incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

We were both college athletes, so we have a different take on American College life.
Jessica: I bake a pretty awesome apple pie, and I'd love to learn about cooking/baking in another culture.
Alyssa: I know the first 20 digits of pi (haha). I want to learn anything I can about other cultures.
